Mitzi Delgado Rivero is an Attorney with Sloan & Moyer LLP.  Mitzi’s practice includes estate planning, probate, guardianships, business litigation and transactions and family law. 

ESTATE PLANNING, PROBATE AND GUARDIANSHIP

Mitzi has extensive experience in a wide variety of estate administration and planning maters. Mitzi’s experience includes:

  • Drafting wills
  • Living Wills
  • Trusts
  • Heirship proceedings
  • Probate of wills
  • Medical Power of Attorney
  • Establishing guardianships for incapacitated adults
  • Preparing Annual Accounts and Reports for guardianship matters

In addition, Mitzi has also served as a court appointed attorney ad litem in heirship proceedings.

BUSINESS LITIGATION

Mitzi has ample experience in representing individuals as well as small and mid-sized companies in a variety of litigation including breach of contract, fraud, fraudulent transfer, commercial collection, wrongful termination, breach of fiduciary duties and tort cases.  Mitzi’s recent representations include:

  • Authored and successfully defended the appeal a trial court judgment finding directors and officers of a corporation jointly and severally liable for corporate debt.  McCarroll v. My Sentinel, LLC 2009 Tex. App. LEXIS 9363 (Tex. App.—Houston [14th Dist.]) (December 10, 2009)
  • Assisted in the representation of a financial institution in a fraudulent transfer action.  In re Mott case 137 S.W.3d 870 (Tex. App.—Houston [1st Dist.] 2004)

In the course of her practice, Mitzi has appeared before State and Federal courts and various arbitration panels including the American Arbitration Association and International Centre for Dispute Resolution.

FAMILY LAW

  • Mitzi has handled a wide variety of family law cases including those involving divorce, dissolution, property settlements and prenuptial agreements. 
  • She has counseled clients in a wide range of custody and guardianship cases including: child custody, child support, CPS matters, visitation, collaborative family law and modifications. 
  • Mitzi has also successfully represented clients in paternity and restraining order matters.

ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTIONS (ADR)

Mitzi has also represented clients in a variety of mediation and arbitration sessions involving litigation, family law and estate administration.
