Jason B. Ormsby
Jason Ormsby was privileged to practice law as a United States Marine Corps Officer, JAG, until tendering his resignation in June 2006. As a JAG Officer, Captain Ormsby served as a Legal Assistance Section Head, Defense Counsel, and deployed as the Operational Law Watch Officer in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
After his military service, Jason worked as the Chief of Operations for a large purchaser of class C multi-family assets in Houston, Texas. In addition to being responsible for the organization and supervision of the operations of more than 5,000 apartment units, Jason closely participated in the valuation, due diligence, and acquisition of non-performing multi-family mortgages and class C multi-family assets.
Jason's legal practice relates primarily to business law and commercial real estate matters, including representing commercial property insurance policy holders and matters arising from the submission of commercial property insurance claims.
Jason received his J.D. from the University of Houston in December 1999 after graduating Cum Laude from Brigham Young University - Hawaii Campus with a B.S. (Accounting) in May 1997. He was licensed to practice law in Texas in May 2000. In addition to Texas trial and appellate courts, he is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
Jason participated as an All-Marine Rugby player every year from 2002-2006, and was selected as Team Captain in 2003 and 2004. He was selected to the All-Armed Forces rugby team in 2003 and served as its Captain that year in the National All-Star Tournament. Jason is active in several youth sports organizations in his community and is a student of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
